Terry Branstad said today that his selection of a Lt. Gov. running mate will not support equal marriage rights for same-sex couples, unlike his former Lt. Gov. Joy Corning.
Branstad has until June 26, the state Republican convention, to select a running mate.
“I’m looking for somebody that is intelligent, articulate, has a great work ethic, someone who shares my conservative philosophy, somebody that’s got leadership ability that I think could be a future governor of this state,” Branstad said today during a taping of Iowa Public Television’s, “Iowa Press.”
