SIOUX CITY --- Matt Campbell of Manning emerged out of the Democratic Party primary and will face four-term incumbent Republican Steve King in the Iowa 5th District congressional race this fall.
Votes had not been counted in all 32 counties of Iowa's largest congressional district, but by news deadline Tuesday night, Campbell had received 78 percent of the vote, well ahead of Mike Denklau of Council Bluffs.
The two followed a campaign strategy of talking with western Iowans primarily on economic issues and touted their business experience among their credentials to serve in the U.S. House.
