Nebraska: Lesbian hate crime hoax sentencing postponed (PinkNews)

A judge has rescheduled the sentencing date for a Nebraska lesbian who pleaded no contest to faking an anti-gay hate crime.

The Associated Press reports Charlie Rogers will now face sentencing on 14 March in Lancaster County Court.

Woman accused of making up hate crime denied change of trial venue (Omaha)

A judge has dismissed a change of venue request by a woman charged with making up a gay hate crime.

Charlie Rogers filed a motion Nov. 16 seeking to move the location of her trial on a misdemeanor charge of false reporting. On Wednesday, her attorney, Brett McArthur, withdrew the motion.

Iowa Clerk Brigitte Van Nice To Plea Not Guilty To Gay Marriage Fraud (OnTop)

Brigitte Van Nice, a deputy clerk in a rural Iowa county, is expected to plea not guilty to filing an illegal Iowa marriage certificate.

Joab Penney and Joseph Parker of Florida said a Google search led them to Van Nice, who mailed them a marriage license application and told the couple they could marry in Iowa without coming to the state.
