The actress talks to her kids about same-sex feelings -- reminding even liberal parents to go beyond pink and blue

"Talk about the best education," says Kate Winslet. Speaking to V magazine this month, the Oscar-winning, eminently glorious actress explained why she likes raising worldly children. In the interview, she relates how her 7-year-old son Joe "turns to me the other day and says, 'One day I will have a girlfriend or a boyfriend, darling. Which would you prefer?' And I said, 'My love, that would be entirely up to you, and it doesn’t make any difference to me.' But that he knows! It’s a real privilege."

Catholic Priest Writes Book on Ministering to Gays (SanDiegoReader)

A controversial retired Catholic priest has penned a new book aimed at helping parishes that seek to reach out to homosexuals. And it doesn't focus on changing their orientation. James Schexnayder’s book, Setting the Table: Preparing Catholic Parishes to Welcome Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender People and Their Families, is intended to serve as a resource guide for churches attempting to create “safe, supportive and healing places” for non-heterosexual individuals and their families, according to an article in the latest issue of Oakland’s the Catholic Voice.

“We call them Grindr parties,” says Ashraf. “We all have our iPhones out, we open them up to our Grindr and we'll be like, ‘I'm talking to this person,' and they'll be like, ‘Forget that; look at this person.' It's totally addictive.”
