Diversity Focus will host its 6th Annual Student Diversity Leadership Conference on October 19, 2012 at Mount Mercy University from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The goal for this conference is to empower and inspire participants to work towards a brighter tomorrow and to become successful leaders within the schools and communities. The Student Diversity Leadership Conference is for both high-school level students and educators in public, private and home school platforms.
This year’s conference theme is “Step up for Diversity,” which will focus on taking a stand for diversity, being proud of who you are, and helping others to understand and accept diversity as a key to success, growth and knowledge.
“We are excited about our student conference and the motivational speakers we have this year. Our goal is to connect with each student, and motivate them to understand their true potential,” says Chad Simmons, Executive Director. “We will also be making a special announcement regarding the future of our leadership initiatives.”
Students, educators and community members will participate in workshop sessions with different speakers. Various topics and issues will be discussed including power of choice, influence and bullying that will encourage students to make positive choices for themselves, their schools and their personal life.
