We wish to share our most sincere hopes for the FRC security guard shot in the arm today in Washington DC.
The ACCESSline is an advocacy paper for the greater LGBT and HIV+ communities in America's heartland, and thus has consistently published news and opinions reinforcing our disagreement with the organization called the Family Research Council. However, it is important that we always remember it is everyone's responsibility to face political, moral, and personal disagreements—even on very important and sensitive issues—with action that is respectful of the rights of others: rights that include choice of religion, religious expression, the ability to speak freely, and—most importantly—personal health and safety. Violence directed at anyone because of their beliefs or opinions alone is never acceptable.
