To better serve our patients and provide reliable and consistent services, Planned Parenthood of the Heartland is consolidating our Newton, Iowa, and Ankeny, Iowa, health centers.

Beginning July 19, the Newton health center at 615 N. 2nd Ave. W. will combine with the Planned Parenthood health center at 704 N. Ankeny Blvd., Ankeny.

“Consolidating the smaller Newton facility with Ankeny will give patients  the advantages of expanded services and hours,” said Planned Parenthood of the Heartland President and CEO Jill June. “Electronic health records at all of our health centers allows patients the option  to visit us at Ankeny or any of our four Central Iowa locations.

“Our patients are our number one concern. We’re here and dedicated to providing access to the affordable quality health care that is relied on by tens of thousands of Iowans each year.”

Planned Parenthood of the Heartland provides cancer screenings, Pap tests, birth control, colposcopies, male health screenings, STI testing and treatment, sexual assault exams, abortion, adoption, prenatal care and much more.

Once the consolidation is complete, Planned Parenthood of the Heartland will have 29 health centers throughout Iowa, Nebraska, Arkansas and Oklahoma.
