With nearly 75 students, faculty, staff and administrators attending from facilities in Nebraska and Iowa, LGBT health expert Shane Snowdon discussed the disparities, inequities and anxieties experienced by LGBT patients and their families – and how health institutions around the country are addressing them. She described reality-tested strategies, tools and resources for providing LGBT patient-centered care, including HRC’s national Healthcare Equality Index.
