Smiles, small cars, dogs and candy ruled Saturday morning as the people of Council Bluffs celebrated their city. Thousands of families, couples, teenagers and others lined Pierce and Main streets from Ninth Avenue to West Broadway for the annual Celebrate CB parade.
“The camaraderie and the community spirit,” Don Miller said when asked why he attends every year. “The parade is just a tradition for us.”
Miller was there with his sister, Sandra Neighbors, her 5-year-old granddaughter Isabelle Brown and about 13 other family members.
“We got the whole family out,” Neighbors said. “We always come to the parade.”
