Maine's marriage equality advocates are taking a new, more empathetic approach in promoting the idea of same-sex marriage ahead of the state's 2012 elections.
As The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting, the first of the two 30-second ads, which have been timed for a Thanksgiving release, features an elderly Catholic couple from rural Maine describing how they came to accept that their eldest daughter is a lesbian. The second clip shows a United Methodist Church minister, wearing his religious collar, and his wife as they talk about how they "really struggled" through the marriage equality issue.
