The heavily injured victim of an alleged anti-gay assault in Texas is speaking out for the first time.
"I was hurt really badly emotionally and physically, but I didn't lose my life and that's the most important thing," Burke Burnett said. "I'm taking it one day at a time."
Burnett, 26, reportedly received 30 stitches to close stab wounds on his back and forearms inflicted by a broken beer bottle, reports the Dallas Voice, as well as second-degree burns and severe bruises after being assaulted at a Halloween party on Sunday.
