The Artist

In “Naturescapes: Near and Far,” photographer Larry Mendenhall explores the dazzling shapes and colors of nature found in both grand vistas and intimate close-ups.

After a career as a newspaper photographer and reporter, Mendenhall began concentrating on landscape photography in 1998. Since 2003, his work has been selected for numerous juried exhibits and art shows. Most recently, he received the Best of Show award at the Octagon Art Festival in Ames.  Although he works mainly in color, for the last year Mendenhall has been adding black and white images to his portfolio. Some of these new photographs will be seen for the first time at the reception.

The works will hang in the gallery until December 3, 2011.  Please join us on Friday November 4, 2011 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm to meet Larry, enjoy some wine, some hors d’oeuvres and some great photography.
