Jury selection began Tuesday in the case of a former music professor who is alleging the University of Northern Iowa fired him because he's gay.

Bradley Thomas Barrett, 52, had worked at UNI since 2002, but he was placed on leave and then fired after a former student from a previous teaching assignment accused him of sexual abuse.
