An argument erupted outside the Black Hawk County Jail moments after a Waterloo teen accused of murder had his initial court appearance this morning (Friday).
Family members of Paris Anding were filing out of the jail courtroom shortly after 8:30 a.m. when a shouting match broke out in the parking lot.
Sheriff's deputies were called and broke up the crowd before the argument came to blows, allowing one of the sides of the dispute to drive off.
Anding, 19, of Waterloo, was arrested Thursday night for second-degree murder in the Aug. 19 beating of Marcellus Andrews. Investigators said Anding admitted to swinging a baseball bat at Andrews's head, and Andrews later died of head trauma.
