Pollstar and Venues Today Name Both Venues in Ticket Sale Lists
Omaha Performing Arts is proud to announce that the Orpheum Theater and the Holland Performing Arts Center, which are both managed by Omaha Performing Arts, have been internationally and nationally recognized by two top venue publications: Pollstar and Venues Today.
Both the Orpheum Theater and the Holland Performing Arts Center were listed among the top 100 theatre venues of all sizes for worldwide ticket sales in Pollstar’s mid-year report out July 18, 2011.
Pollstar, the only trade publication covering the worldwide concert industry, listed Omaha’s Orpheum Theater as 13th out of 100 theatre venues for worldwide ticket sales with 148,099 tickets reported for the period of Jan. 1, 2011 to June 30, 2011 and the Holland Performing Arts Center as 89th out of 100 theatre venues for worldwide ticket sales with 28,796 tickets reported for the same period. Ticket figures include selected national presentations reportable to Pollstar during that period.
The Orpheum Theater was also listed in the July, 2011 issue of Venues Today as the number one “Hot Tickets May 16 – June 15, 2011” for venues of 5,000 seats or less, as well as the number two “Top Stops May 16 – June 15, 2011” for venues of 5,000 seats or less. Rankings were based on concert and event grosses as reported to Venues Today during that time period. Venues Today is a monthly publication that is a leading source of original reporting for live entertainment and events.
“As we celebrate the first five years of the Holland Performing Arts Center, we are thrilled to have our two world-class venues recognized by these industry-leading publications,” said Joan Squires, president of Omaha Performing Arts. “We continually strive to make Omaha a destination for top entertainers in order to bring the best artists and productions to our community.”
