Presidential candidate Jon Huntsman has been using his support for civil unions to woo LGBT conservatives. He will not, however, be backing marriage equality. Why? Because Huntsman, like so many of his party peers, refuses to think outside the box.
Hoping to raise his national profile, Jon Huntsman appeared on MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ today and told his hosts that while he supports civil unions for same-sex couples, he draws the line at marriage equality. It would be “impossible,” he says, to “redefine marriage.”
“I think redefining marriage is something that would be impossible and it’s something I would not be in favor of,” explained the former Utah governor.
