Former Chief Judge Vaughn Walker, who ruled Proposition 8 unconstitutional in California, was the topic of a very heated hearing on Monday. Lawyers who were backing those in favor of the ban were arguing that Walker only ruled Proposition 8 unconstitutional because he wanted to marry his gay lover of 10 years, according to MSNBC.
Tuesday, current Chief U.S. District Judge James Ware upheld Walker’s ruling. He furthermore said that Walker did not have to make any of his personal relationship public, reported MSBNC. After Walker retired in February, he put all previous rumors to rest when he revealed that he had a gay lover of 10 years.
