Following the widespread uproar over a recent standup routine that was condemned for several anti-gay remarks, Tracy Morgan said he will meet with gay youths in New York and return to Tennessee, where he performed the show, to apologize to people who were offended by his act.
Mr. Morgan, a star of the NBC comedy “30 Rock,” sparked an online outcry with a show he performed at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on June 3. After that concert, an audience member named Kevin Rogers wrote in a widely circulated Facebook post that Mr. Morgan said “gay was something kids learn from the media and programming” and if his son were gay and talked in a high-pitched voice, “he would pull out a knife and stab” him to death.
