
TOUTED as one of Australia's most individual performers, flamboyant Sydneysider Paul Capsis has enjoyed a colourful career on stage and screen despite experiencing several turbulent school years.
Openly gay, artistic and having Maltese-Greek heritage, he was an easy target for bullies.
“There was a lot of bullying going on at my school, just like there is today, but I guess it's mostly on the Internet now,” Capsis said.
“The violence I experienced - and there was plenty of it - made me more determined to be myself and not care what other people thought.”
