
Jeff Corman’s junior high students make a return appearance today with their ideas for changing the world.
Off and on for the past eight years, we’ve heard from seventh- and eighth-graders from Frank L. Smart Intermediate School in Davenport in the form of their letters to the editor — an assignment in Mr. Corman’s class.
This year, 83 letters came to us from teens and pre-teens in his classes at Wood Intermediate.
Some of the topics were familiar: lousy school lunches, gas prices and animal abuse.
But this year’s classes have new sets of worries: bullying, texting while driving and gay marriage, among them.
