Omaha-Council Bluffs GLBT Pride Festival announces entire lineup
Sometimes it’s not what you know or who you know it is where you are at! Heartland Pride is excited to announce that the 2011 Headliner will be that Enthusiastic Musical Group: Leslie and the LY’s.
Leslie & the LY's is made up of front-woman Leslie Hall, also known as Mother Gem, who composes all of the music herself generally using the Apple Computer program GarageBand. Hall has since established The Mobile Museum of Gem Sweaters, which doubles both as the band's official tour vehicle and gift shop/museum. She has been featured in Vice magazine, on television with VH1 and G4, and has had music videos featured on AtomFilms and Yahoo!'s main page. In 2006, Leslie was filmed as part of space150's viral campaign for We Are the Web, a site that advocates net neutrality.
Opening for Leslie and the LY’s is BITCH. "Bitch's mouthy wordplay and virtuous electric violin playing are ferociously hot" - The Village Voice, New York. "On stage, the politically charged violinist/vocalist is a force to be reconed with" - Flavorpill, Los Angeles.
In addition to these great acts Heartland Pride has lined up the following groups to entertain: Anna Roxia, Clincher, Crush Bois, Diamond Foundation Entertainers, DJ Evan Pires, Dominque Morgan, Dynasty Show Cast, Winners from Friday Nights Show, Furiosity, Imperial Court of Nebraska Entertainers, Incognito, Jessica’s Lincoln Showcast, Jammin Jude, Last-Years Pride title holders, Lotus Belly Dancers, Lyp Schtick, Njoy Show Cast, Nebraska Spoken Word Artists, Pride Players, Respect, Some Assembly Required, Susie Brenner (Brenner-Beckstead), Square1 and The Max Title Holders.
