
On the weekend of the second year anniversary of the ruling that made same sex marriage legal here in Iowa, supporters are still fighting to make sure that right does not disappear.
Saturday night, supporters of same sex marriage are celebrating the historic ruling that changed their lives. They have a second reason to rejoice. A House bill that would have started the process of letting Iowans vote on the issue of same sex marriage died at the state house this week. Now supporters want all Iowans to know why people; no matter what their gender; should be able to get married.
"Marriage equality in Iowa is under attack unlike any other time since the Supreme Court ruling," says Troy Price of One Iowa, a same sex marriage advocate group.
