With the Legislature’s second funnel deadline this week, it remains clear that Legislative Republicans and Governor Branstad have pushed an extreme agenda instead of working with Democrats to create jobs. The Iowa Democratic Party has launched a website to highlight Republicans’ focus on divisive issues that move the state backward instead of strengthening it.
“Republicans have abandoned their campaign promises to focus on jobs and the economy. Instead, they have pushed a divisive, right-wing agenda since day one,” said Iowa Democratic Party Chairwoman Sue Dvorsky.
Visitors to the site are able to see what Republicans have supported this session instead of jobs and easily share this information with their friends through email and social networks. The site was initially launched last week to a limited test group and an updated site was launched this morning.
“Once Iowans see where Governor Branstad and Republicans in the Legislature have focused their efforts, they are going to have serious questions about this agenda,” added Dvorsky.
