
Colleen Kelly, co-host of the “Ken & Colleen Show” on 102.5 FM morning radio, will serve as the Celebrity Host at the 2011 AIDS Walk/Run Saturday, April 2nd. This important fundraiser for the AIDS Project of Central Iowa (The Project) begins at 10 am. It will start and finish at Des Moines University, 3440 Grand Ave. in Des Moines, which has been the generous venue sponsor for the past 10 years.
Proceeds from the event help The Project provide food, housing, emergency financial assistance, mental health services and case management to the men, women and children in Iowa living with HIV/AIDS. Funds raised are also used to deliver HIV prevention services and testing. All services are free.
Winning runners is several age categories and top fundraisers will receive gifts from local merchants and restaurants. In addition to the walk/run aspect of the event, there will be a performance by the Isiserettes Drill & Drum Corp, family entertainment, pre-walk/run warm-up activities led by Fitness World West, osteopathic manual treatments and physical therapy provided by Des Moines University students. In addition, Bowman Chiropractic will be offering spinal screenings.

They come to have fun and support our agency’s work.”
