
On Monday afternoon, a judge's signature gave two Sioux Falls women who were legally married in Iowa the right to use their married names in their home state.
Jessica and Aundrea Dybing-Jorgensen petitioned for a name change in Minnehaha County in late January after the Department of Public Safety refused to issue them driver's licenses in their married names.
Judge Bill Srstka signed the petitions Monday. Another woman from North Sioux City, who took her wife's name in an Iowa marriage, was granted a similar petition in February by Judge Steven Jensen.
