It slipped by me when it was originally posted, but I have to share this little YouTube gem about Iowa's judicial system.
The video, described as "A class project based on a real issue," was posted on JKorr's YouTube Channel -- and despite its similarity to "Justice Not Politics" the site at the end is NOT a real website.
The video cleverly and concisely describes what happened after Iowa's Supreme Court ruled that denying same-gender couples the rights of civil marriage also denied them equal protection under Iowa's Constitution. Three justices were voted out of office after about $1,000,000 was spent--funded mostly by out-of-state anti-gay organizations which have since been declared hate groups--to sway the election, and GOP legislators have floated the idea of impeachment for the remaining justices.
All of this because the court found that same-sex marriage harmed nobody, but denying marriage to same-sex couples harmed those couples.
