The sixth annual Mission Creek Festival, which will happen in Iowa City, Iowa from March 28th - April 4th, 2011, is proud to announce its full lineup! This week-long celebration takes over venues, art spaces, and businesses in downtown Iowa City, providing an easily navigated nexus of music, literature, and visual art. The festival remains dedicated to inspiring and building Iowa City's artistic community through the exposure of local, national, and international artists.
In line with previous years, the 2011 festival features a diverse range of performers and writers, including one of the best rock n' roll bands of our era (Guided By Voices), a folk/rock hero performing an acoustic set (Jeff Tweedy), a one-man performance by a film icon (John Waters), pioneers of New York's music/art scenes (Kim Gordon & Thurston Moore), two of the nation's most respected rock critics hosting an intimate live event (Sound Opinion's Greg Kot and Jim DeRogatis), a host of emerging writers like Ben Hale (The Evolution of Bruno Littlemore) and Tao Lin, a reading presented by the esteemed Granta Magazine, and a full-blown literary crawl in downtown Iowa City! Below is a list of all confirmed musical acts, followed by a list of all confirmed literary events and presses.
NOTE: The festival’s All Access Pass is SOLD OUT! Limited passes and individual show tickets are still available via our partner MidwesTix.
