
For many, relationship status is an important feature on social networking sites such as Facebook. However, it has been frustrating for members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community whose relationship status is not an option.
The world's most popular social networking site is remedying that issue by adding two new status options.
Facebook now gives U.S. residents the option for their relationship status to read "In a domestic partnership" and "In a civil union," along with the usual list of relationship options, which currently include "Single," "In a relationship," "Engaged," "Married," "It's complicated," "In an open relationship," "Widowed," "Separated" and "Divorced," according to Mashable.
