Faith In Iowa Group to meet Valentine's Day

The first meeting of the group Faith In Iowa, will be held Monday, February 14th at 7:30 p.m. at the Christ Episcopal Church sanctuary in Cedar Rapids. The group is created with the desire to organize around the twin notions of judicial independence and religious freedom.

"Judges cannot base their rulings on second guessing what the next election might hold for them.  And the state of Iowa must continue to honor all the religious viewpoints of all her citizens – not just the conservative Christians.

Iowa made history on Election Day 2010, and Bob Vander Plaats and his disciples were mighty happy while the rest of us were devastated. If you were like us, you vowed to do whatever it takes to ensure Iowa never has a dark day like that again.

To say the Vander Plaats forces were buoyed by the vote is an understatement.  They are now full speed ahead to further destroy judicial independence in Iowa.  And the rest of the nation is watching. For those of us on the other side, there’s only one thing to do:  ORGANIZE!"

The purpose of the gathering is two-fold: getting input and agreeing on a plan of action. It is free to the public with invitations for "anyone who has faith in Iowa". The Christ Episcopal Church sanctuary is located at 220 40th St NE, Cedar Rapids.
