'True Blood,' Ricky Martin, Chely Wright Among GLAAD Media Award Nominees (OnTop)
True Blood, Glee, Ricky Martin and Chely Wright are among the nominees for awards from the 22nd annual Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation Media Awards.
The GLAAD awards recognize positive portrayals of the lives of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people in the media.
“This year's nominees represent some of the images and stories at the root of the growing acceptance of our community and support for our equality,” GLAAD President Jarrett Barrios said in a statement. “They also have created a benchmark for inclusion of our community that other media outlets should look to.”
