The group Justice Not Politics released the following statement this afternoon regarding the lawsuit filed against Judicial Nominating Commission:
“Iowa has one of the best court systems in the country largely due to the fair and impartial process we use to select judges. Seven lawyers are selected to serve on the judicial nominating commission because of their knowledge and interaction with the courts. Similar cases to the lawsuit filed today were previously thrown out of federal court because it was determined these individuals are the most qualified to serve on such a nominating commission.
