
This is the time of year where we start hearing words reserved for the winter holidays yule, noel (or nowell or even noe) -- and the list goes on and on.
The Quire: Eastern Iowa's GLBT Chorus joins in the fun as we present our concert "Sing We Noel" on Dec. 4. The festivities will ring out at 7 p.m. from the sanctuary of Zion Lutheran Church.
The co-directors for The Quire, Marlys Boote and Kurt Juhl, have put together a concert with two distinct halves. We start with a journey through several older Christmas hymns from 18th, 19th and early 20th century composers. After a short break, we'll lighten things up with many familiar winter and Christmas tunes to get your toes tapping and leave you longing for that first measurable snowfall -- if it doesn't hit us in the next two weeks.
