Members of the valley's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities shared their stories of coming out in anticipation of this weekend's Greater Palm Springs Pride Festival and Parade.
For some, admitting that they were gay to themselves and others was a slow process that ended with acceptance and support from friends and family. Others dealt with broken relationships and hurt.
But to live a lie, all agreed, would be far worse.
